Our approach

We model cost ranges around project size, scope, materials, labor intensity and complexity. Where location-specific data is available, local market conditions can be incorporated into the estimate.

Why we show ranges

Two contractors can legitimately quote different prices for the same project. Access, permits, demolition, hidden damage, material availability and labor conditions vary. A range is more honest than a single number.

Sources and updates

Cost models are reviewed against current U.S. remodeling market data, contractor pricing references and published industry sources. Each calculator is intended to disclose its assumptions and update date.
